Police eventually transported the woman to the Whistler Health Care Centre for treatment, as an ambulance was unavailable at the time.

Knapton did not know what substance or mixture of substances the woman had used.

Police said the provincial Ministry of Children & Family Development was notified, as the woman’s four-year-old child was present during the incident. The child’s father, who exhibited signs of impairment, was also present, police said.
