The third annual Whistler Film Fest is in full swing. Friday’s lineup includes three filmmaker forum sessions and six feature film presentations. The Toronto-based organic electronica groove trio swing by the GLC. Whistler’s favourite DJ, Mat the Alien, spins a funk & soul set to open. Tickets $15 in advance from Blueballs Boutique, The Electric Daisy Internet Café and the GLC, $20 at the door.

A presentation of the Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival, Josh Lowell’s latest film follows rock climbing god Chris Sharma’s bouldering pilgrimage through the South of India. Also screening: Whistler alpinist Dave Sarkany’s short film Chilko Lake on Ice, and Squamish climber Matt Maddaloni’s Squamish Long Free Routes slide show, which also features shots by Andrew Querner, Paul Bride and Dave Humphreys.
