Cherrybomb’s Suzanne Wilson plays solo indie faves, tonight and Saturday. Wilson performs gigs locally and at Vancouver venues with the band, playing the Backstage Lounge at Granville Island this past week.

Jazz music on piano from contemporary artist Chu, who plays nightly. Always a favourite inside the Bearfoot Bistro for casual diners and audiences enjoying a Friday evening cocktail. Conversational volume level, a smooth treat.

Citta’s central stage in Village Square attracts locals and visitors. Best people watching spot to enjoy a variety of pints on tap. Open for lunch; low key candlelight dining upstairs into the summer evening.

A funky place for a pint, a martini, or a meal, overlooking the Village Square. Live music some nights. For an international, younger crowd visit the ’Dam.

The warming floor for locals apres-ski. Located at the foot of both village gondolas. With snowcapped peaks and the mountain bike park in the background, enjoy their telescope to bear watch or star gaze. Tasty food, 99 brands of beer in a gilded silver menu, and 40 scotches to keep you reminiscing.

Casual atmosphere for warm conversation and cold beer. Bar staff operate a not-too-loud sound system of rock and roll numbers and the outdoor patio gives patrons the best air in the world.

SUNDAY WRAP

Who: Danko Jones

Rockin’ and rollin’ with Toronto’s Danko Jones. Founded in 1996, the Danko Jones band plays hard rock from their first full-length album, Born a Lion (on Universal). Their previous recording was a 13-song document, titled I’m Alive and On Fire (independent, songs from 1996-1999), which followed on their successful tours opening for Beck (2000) and Maritimer rockers Sloan (2000). Fresh back from a Euro tour with Ozzfest in Sweden and the Roskilde Festival in Denmark, Danko Jones "cooks up Danko’s bazoooka riffs, bassist J.C.’s serrated rhythms and drummer Damon’s seismic stomps."
