Whistler Street Entertainment August 2-8, 2002
Free entertainment happens all weekend throughout the village at Village Square, Village Common, Town Plaza Gazebo, and Mountain Square, with the emphasis on family fun. This weeks performers include:
Tickles and Dots-A-Lot, a the mother-daughter team of clowns who present comedy sketches;
Max-i-mime studied at Moscows Mirror Mime Company, won the National Mime Competition, the only deaf student in his class;
Richard entertains with his jazzy, smoky-smooth clarinet accompanied by his father Phil Beynon on keyboards;
Cousin Harley, a music trio, perform good old-fashioned rock-a-billy tunes with style.
Reid Belstock uses his training as a circus clown with juggling to create a loveable, wacky persona that has been called the Jerry Lewis of juggling.
This week, the Wednesday night cabaret features Tickles and Dots-A-Lot, Richard and Phil Beynon, Max-i-mime and Reid Belstock. at the Town Plaza Gazebo from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Oz band band Fruit performs their "melodic pop-acoustic folk-electric rock" tonight at GLC. "Emotive, instinctive, thats where all of our songwriting springs from," says singer/guitarist Susie Keynes. They perform songs from their most recent album, Live at the Basement , which was released in the US in June, and songs from previous albums Here for Days (2001), a "limited US release" and the live album, Shift (1998). "We want to connect with the audience, playing songs where we get them to sing back to us. Were colour, vibrancy, and selection," says Keynes.

Brewhouse tunes are always hopping, from morning to night. Outdoor patios make for great people watching in the village. Near all the bars, clubs and shops in between Marketplace and central Village Square.

Hozs is still open during the Lake Placid Road construction extravaganza. Easily accessible by mountain bike, ATV or canoe. Cut through the Creekside dust and sit down for a cool one at Hozs.

A funky place for a pint, a martini, or a meal, overlooking the Village Square. Live music some nights. For an international, younger crowd visit the Dam.

The warming floor for locals apres-ski. Located at the foot of both village gondolas. With snow-capped peaks and the mountain bike park in the background, enjoy their telescope to bear watch or star gaze. Tasty food, 99 brands of beer in a gilded silver menu, and 40 scotches to keep you reminiscing.

Casual atmosphere for warm conversation and cold beer. Bar staff operate a not-too-loud sound system of rock and roll numbers and the outdoor patio gives patrons the best air in the world.
