Police are asking for help in finding two men who were involved in stabbing a Mount Currie man in Whistler last month.
The victim was stabbed once in the chest on Friday, Nov. 14 and was rushed to Vancouver General Hospital. He has since been released from hospital and is recovering nicely, according to police.
The 25-year-old man was in Lot A, the underground parkade beneath the Royal Bank, when he was approached two white males around 9:30 p.m.
They demanded his knapsack then stabbed him when he refused to hand it over.
Police said robbery appears to be the motive behind the stabbing but they cannot confirm that.
They also cannot confirm whether the victim and the suspects are connected in any way.
The investigation is still ongoing.
The first suspect is described as white, early to mid-20s, five foot eight with a medium build. He has thick, straight black hair and was clean-shaven and wearing a dark hoody at the time of the stabbing.
The second suspect is described as white, early to mid-20s, about six feet tall with a medium build. He had dirty brown hair with a goatee and moustache, which were not connected. He was wearing a brownish/grey wool jacket.
Whistler RCMP are asking anyone who may recognize the two suspects or anyone with information regarding the incident to contact Constable Young or the Whistler RCMP at 604-932-3044 or call Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
Man arrested in sexual assault
On Dec. 5, the Whistler RCMP received a report that an adult female had been sexually assaulted at a local residence.
The RCMP investigation led to the arrest of an 18-year-old male, who was held in custody and later released by a Justice of the Peace on strict conditions. He is to make his court appearance early in the new year.
According to the RCMP, this was an isolated incident and public safety does not appear to be an issue.
