Police have some questions for the driver of a sedan with a snowmobile on its roof spotted across the Southern Interior recently.

The white sedan, likely a Ford Crown Victoria, has been seen carrying the snowmobile in the Vernon, Kamloops and Grand Forks areas.

"First, how'd you get it on the roof? Seriously, this is potentially dangerous if the roof can't support the weight & load securement is questionable," the B.C. RCMP tweeted Tuesday.

Police appealed to the public for help identifying the driver.

Castanet reader Pat Reynolds saw the sedan on Highway 97 just south of Vernon on New Years Eve.

She was headed towards Kamloops when the vehicle passed her in the left lane.

"I just wondered how they managed to get the snowmobile on top of the car," said Reynolds. "Seemed stable enough, they were going around corners with no problem."
