principal

To the office, Mr. Smith! The new Whistler Secondary School doesn't have walls yet, but the school has a principal. Rick Smith, a 17-year veteran of B.C.'s education scene was named principal of the facility last week by the Howe Sound board of trustees. Smith is currently the vice-principal of Kwalikum Secondary School. His previous experience includes a stint as a sessional lecturer at the University of Victoria and school counsellor and teacher in the Courtenay School District. Smith and his wife Yvonne are planning to move to the Whistler area this summer. He will teach at the new Pemberton Secondary School for the 1995-96 school year in preparation for the September 1996 opening of the Whistler Secondary School.
