Pemberton Secondary School is celebrating its grand opening Nov. 28 and inviting the community to drop by. From 6 to 9 p.m. a number of activities will be taking place at the school, including a basketball game between the senior boys team and the local RCMP, a salmon barbecue (with proceeds going to the junior girls basketball team) tours of the school, displays, drama presentations and exhibitions of students’ work. There will also be door prizes and the Pemberton Parents Association will be barbecuing hamburgers and hot dogs in the Food Room. The official opening of the school is at 2 p.m., with representatives of the Ministry of Education, the Howe Sound School District, the board of trustees, the parents association, the student body and invited guests. Tours of the school and a reception will follow. Mountain FM will be on location at noon.
