Pyjama party to close down WSSF

Laundry day and too busy schmoozing? Sipping cocktails in your pyjamas provides an easy what-to-wear option.

Laundry day and too busy schmoozing?

Sipping cocktails in your pyjamas provides an easy what-to-wear option.

AMP Productions, present an epic 12-hour pyjama party from noon on Sunday, April 21 to closing time at the GLC as the final event of the World Ski and Snowboard Festival.

The party is the alternative to last year’s all-night event at the now defunct Alpenrock.

The GLC lounge and patio, which has become a prime viewing spot for the Jim Beam outdoor concert stage will be transformed into a giant bedroom as DJ Scott Arkwell, Hebegebe and other spinsters play all day and all night long.

AM Productions bill the party as a home for "all boogie-aholics (like us) who have supported the event for the past five years."

Meanwhile Freeskier Magazine presents their Pyjama Jam on Friday, April 19 at the Savage Beagle, where you can also parade your finest sleep wear. And while the dictionary calls PJ’s a "suit of loose jackets and trousers for sleeping in," what you wear is up to you.

A screening of all films entered in the WSSF filmmaker showdown will take place at Buffalo Bill’s on April 21, starting at 10 p.m. Tickets are $5 at the door, and you can take a look at local filmmakers’ mini-docs of the 1-day fest.

The event is being arranged by Allan Crawford, who created a film with a local crew, Shannon Hearn, and Kyla O’Brien.

When a computer crash meant Crawford’s film could not be entered at the deadline time of 5 p.m on Monday, April 15, the group decided to organize a showcase.

A screening of the top six films took place as part of the WSSF Exposure events at the Whistler Conference Centre on April 17.
