quilts

The Whistler Valley Quilters’ Guild has stitched all year to present the Quilts in the Mountains quilt show, June 12-13. Twenty-two members worked for more than a year to complete a "Bear Paw" quilt which will be raffled off, with all proceeds going to the Black Bear Task Force. Additional proceeds will buy materials for the guild to continue making quilts for babies in need. Within the next year, members also hope to begin making quilts for seniors. The last quilt show in Whistler was in 1996. Although there won’t be any judged categories, there will be a Viewers’ Choice award. The event will be held at the Blackcomb Kids Kamp building from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
