RCMP have busy Easter weekend

Easter was an especially long weekend for the Pemberton/Whistler RCMP.

Easter was an especially long weekend for the Pemberton/Whistler RCMP. The weekly police blotter has 33 items, including eight noisy parties, three motor vehicle incidents (including one in which alcohol was a factor), two drug seizures, six drunk in public arrests and 12 24-hour driving prohibitions, and two impaired driving busts.

Both impaired drivers are from Whistler and will attend court in June. The first was 65 years old and the second 44.

In fact, Whistler locals figured heavily in all of the charges. Four out of the six drunk in public arrests were Whistler locals as well as 10 of the 24-hour suspensions, and one of the drug seizures.

So much for blaming the our village issues on the tourists.
