Whistler RCMP, Whistler Blackcomb and search and rescue volunteers were on Blackcomb Mountain this afternoon in the hopes of finding any sign of a missing 21-year-old.

Julie Abrahamsen was last seen on Blackcomb Mountain on Wednesday, Jan. 21, said Sgt. Rob Knapton of the RCMP.

"Her last pass scan was at approximately 11 a.m. on Glacier Express," Knapton said.

"Since that time there's been no contact or record of her location."

A search was started at 3 p.m., Knapton said, but was suspended at nightfall. It will begin again on Saturday morning.

Abrahamsen is 5'5 tall, weighing 130 to 155 pounds. She has blonde hair, blue eyes and was wearing a green and purple ski jacket with purple ski pants and a blue helmet, said Knapton.

It's possible Abrahamsen is not on the mountain anymore, he said.

"We're looking for public assistance from anyone who may have seen her or have any information about her whereabouts."

Anyone with information can call the Whistler RCMP at (604) 932-3044.
