RCMP seek help with assault and burglaries

Concussion victim can't remember attack or assailants.

RCMP are asking for help with two investigations: a Whistler assault and a series of Pemberton break and enters.

A young man who suffered a concussion after being beaten up on Nordic Drive in the early hours of January 25 can’t remember enough of the attack to help RCMP locate his assailants. Witnesses who saw the attack about 1:30 a.m. and came to the aid of the victim lying on the ground noted only two men wearing baseball caps and hoodies punching and kicking the victim. Officers responding to the incident were unable to track the assailants who fled on foot. Motive for the attack is unknown.

In a separate investigation authorities are looking for more information about a series of break and enters in the village of Pemberton. Although Dietrich Merten, 28, of Pemberton, has been charged, local police are asking any members of the public who may have information about recent break and enters to come forward.

If you can help with either of these cases please contact Whistler Pemberton RCMP, 604-932-3044 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
