The Whistler RCMP is warning businesses and the public to be on the lookout for counterfeit US $100 bills.
Since Dec. 8, the RCMP has received four complaints from local businesses about the bills.
"When bogus bills are circulated through the community it has a direct impact on the local economy," said Sgt. Rob Knapton of the Whistler RCMP, in a press release.
"If a person successfully uses counterfeit money it represents a real economic loss to businesses which impacts their bottom line. We urge all local business to carefully check the authenticity of any US $100 bills that people may try to pay with before you accept them."

As part of its investigation into the circulation of the bills, the RCMP is looking to identify a man described as approximately 5-foot-8 with a heavy set build, dark hair and olive skin.
The man is said to speak with an American accent.
