Re-Use-It Centre celebrates sixth birthday Saturday

Store supports 20 charities

The Re-Use-It Centre at Function Junction is inviting the Whistler community and visitors to help celebrate its sixth birthday on Saturday, April 8 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The party will feature a store-wide winter goods sale, which will see all winter items at “blow-out” prices to allow for springs arrival there.

The now famous “silent auction” this season ends at noon that day and features items such as a brand new set of silverware, a near complete set of antique Limoge China, limited edition art, a native mask, old golf clubs, a large set of copper pots and other high quality donations.

Raffle tickets will be sold until 4 p.m. Saturday, with all proceeds going to charity. Prizes include a golf get-a-way from Eagle Tours, Nicklaus North and Summit Lodge, A Ziptrek ecotour, a Starbucks basket, and a $100 and $50 gift certificate for the Re-Use-It Centre. Daffodils are also on sale for the Canadian Cancer Society!

One of Whistler’s most effective recycling tools towards sustainability in the Sea to Sky area, the little store now supports over 20 charities with the funds it makes from donated household goods, including the food bank, W.E.R.C. and other Whistler Community Services Society programs.
