Whistler realtors are 1%-ers Five Whistler realtors have something in common with Harley-ridin' biker gang members: they're all "one percenters." That's a good thing for David Bayliffe, Warren McLeod, John Ryan, Phil Goddard and Doris Kuusk, realtors with Whistler Real Estate. The five were recognized — complete with pictures — in a full-page Globe & Mail advertisement, Feb. 27, as attaining membership in the national chairman's club for being among "the top 1 per cent of our residential sales force." Whistler Real Estate is independently owned, but has a referral relationship with Royal LePage as an associate broker. "If someone in Toronto wants to move here, a Royal LePage realtor will refer them to us and vice versa," explains Bayliffe, who earned the No. 2 spot on the associate broker network listing. Sixty-six Royal LePage realtors were listed as well. "David (Bayliffe) would be somewhere in the top 10 of that list," explains Mike Wintermute, office manager for Whistler Real Estate. "Achievement is determined based on the realtor's gross business commission earnings prior to splits," Wintermute says. Ten WRE realtors made the high achievers list last year, Bayliffe says. "The market was very active, but this year it's a little bit tougher." There's little more than prestige to go with the accolade. "I get a framed certificate," Bayliffe says. "But last year I got a lot of phone calls from people pleased they were dealing with a top producer."
