Get a headstart on the slate of activities on offer this year when registration opens for the RMOW’s Fall/Winter Recreation Guide on Sunday, Aug. 21.

There are dozens of programs available, including the brand new Follow Me to Physical Literacy play-based preschool program; Creative Dance for Children and the Pilates Mat Class.

Old favourites like Late & Unique Night Alternatives, a weekly program of alcohol-free events for ages 18 to 25, returns this fall, as well as Kick Start!, the popular early-morning workout that gets the blood flowing at 6:10 a.m. three times a week.

“Outdoor adventure and recreation draw people to Whistler, and a lifestyle unrivaled anywhere else is what makes them stay. This year’s Recreation Guide once again has excellent programs that encourage wellness for all age levels and interest levels,” said Whistler Mayor Nancy Wilhelm-Morden in a release. “I encourage everyone to explore the different programs and activities the RMOW and its partners are offering and to challenge yourself by trying something new.”

Online registration is available for the Whistler Skating Club’s three learn-to-skate programs for children ages three to 12 this year thanks to a new service agreement.

The Youth Centre, a drop-in centre for teens, is home to a variety of programs and services and features a ping-pong table, pool table, skateboard mini-ramp, turntables and more.

The guide can be viewed at www.whistler.ca/sites/default/files/related/2016-2017_recreation_guide.pdf.

Registration for residents opens online at 12:01 a.m. and at 9 a.m at the Meadow Park Sports Centre, or over the phone at 604-935-7529. Online registration is not available for Kids On the Go and must be done in person.

For non-residents, registrations begins online on Sunday, Aug. 28 at 12:01 a.m. and at Meadow Park at 9 a.m.
