Adding a third vacation property management operation in Whistler to its portfolio, ResortQuest International last week acquired Mountain High Management, Inc.

Adding a third vacation property management operation in Whistler to its portfolio, ResortQuest International last week acquired Mountain High Management, Inc. Incorporated in 1989, Mountain High Management is a leading provider of vacation property rentals and management services in Whistler, managing more than 275 units, predominantly condominiums and townhomes. Whistler Chalets and Whistler Exclusive Property Management Limited are also part of ResortQuest International. "Whistler, British Columbia is recognized as one of the top-rated mountain resorts in North America, and the purchase of Mountain High Management gives ResortQuest additional marketing and operational synergies in this rapidly growing market," said David Levine, ResortQuest president and chief operating officer. In a press release, ResortQuest International is called "the first brand name and on-line booking service in vacation rentals, resort property management and real estate sales." A second management company, High Country Resorts in Crested Butte, Colorado, was also acquired last week. Crested Butte is ResortQuest’s fifth resort destination in Colorado. The total price of acquiring the two companies was $3.7 million U.S. in stock. Since its initial public offering in May, 1998, ResortQuest has made 12 acquisitions, and seven since the beginning of the year. The 12 acquisitions, aggregating more than 4,500 total units, represent a 44 per cent increase in ResortQuest’s initial portfolio of vacation rental homes. ResortQuest’s total portfolio now comprises nearly 15,000 vacation rental properties in 30 premier resort locations across North America. ResortQuest maintains corporate offices in Memphis.
