There was another solid turnout on Saturday, Feb. 12, for the fourth King of the Rail competition under the lights at the base of Blackcomb.
Once again the athletes judged each other during the hour and a half jam session, casting votes for the riders they felt landed the most difficult tricks.
In the snowboard category, Lee Kalovic was the top male, Michelle Mark the top female and 10-year-old Oscar Kirkwood was the top youth.
In the skier category, Derek Drysdale was the top male, Crystal Lee the top female and Kyle MacDonald the top youth.
In the prize draw, Jesse Smith won the Atomic Tweak Skis, and Michelle Mark took the Nintendo Game Cube. Crystal Lee and Chris Hendy won the Nintendo GameBoys.
The next open King of the Rail contest is set for March 5, but there will be a womens only Queen of the Rail contest this Saturday, Feb. 19.
The womens rail jam will work the same way as other events, and local skiers and snowboarders of all ages are invited to come out and take part.
