RMOW gets first LEED rating

The municipality has officially received its first LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certificate for the Spring Creek Fire Hall.

The LEED certificate, rated silver, is a first for the resort, in recognition of the "green building" practices used in the fire hall. The future Whistler Public Library building will also be designed to LEED standards.

Welcome dinner Saturday

The Jill Ackhurst Community welcome dinner takes place Saturday, Nov. 20 at 5 p.m. at the Telus Conference Centre. Newcomers can get to know more about what’s in store during their time in Whistler at the official Welcome Dinner, the crowning event of Whistler Welcome Week. Tickets are $2 at the Whistler Employment Resource Centre and Sammy’s Snacks at W-B Glacier Staff Housing.

Festival of Lights Nov. 27

It’s the annual evening of dinner, dancing, wine and a live music presented by the Association of Whistler Realtors – all in the name of raising money for non-profit groups in the Whistler community. Tickets for the Nov. 27 Festival of Lights at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler are now on sale at the Whistler Real Estate Company or Re/Max of Whistler.
