Answer your phone: the muni is calling and wants to hear from you.

The municipality is launching its ninth annual community life phone survey this week to gauge the state of life in Whistler.

"I encourage residents who are called to take 15 minutes to complete the survey," said Mayor Nancy Wilhelm-Morden. "This is an opportunity to let us know how we're doing and how we can improve municipal programs and services."

The survey will take place until 500 randomly selected residents (300 permanent and 200 part-time residents) have completed the survey.

This is one tool as part of Whistler's community monitoring program, which tracks and records things such as resident satisfaction with municipal services and opinions on municipal budget priorities. Results from this survey help to inform the annual budget and corporate planning processes.

"Whistler is in a unique position as we launch our ninth annual survey," added the mayor. "This is one of our most important annual engagement opportunities for the community, and we now have a body of research that allows us to track overall trends in the community from year to year and over the last decade."

A web version of the survey will be available for residents later this month.
