Rody on track in Ottawa marathon

Whistler’s Kristina Rody, a short-distance runner by training, continues to show that she’s got the chops to succeed in long distance racing as well.

In the Ottawa Marathon last week she finished 37 th overall, first in the women’s 25 to 29 age group, and fifth out of almost 1,400 women with a time of two hours, 48 minutes and five seconds. It was a personal best for the athlete – almost six minutes faster than her previous best time.

"The time wasn’t as good as I had hoped but my progression is going in leaps and bounds," said Rody.

Rody was also proud of being third among Canadian women.
