After battling a knee injury all season, Whistler’s Tony Routley earned a mountain biking bronze medal at the Masters’ World Games in Melbourne, Australia, in early October.

Routley finished just three minutes back of local Nicholas Bird and just over two minutes back of fellow B.C. rider Nels Guloien.

He also competed in the 20 km Road Time Trial, finishing 53 rd out of 99 racers.

Routley and his wife, Nancy, are enjoying some vacation time in Australia before returning home to Whistler.

This was not Routley’s first appearance in a Masters’ event. Last season he finished third overall in the UCI Masters’ Mountain Bike Championships in Bromont, Quebec.
