The Samurai of Singletrack race has been sold out for a month, with 100 riders attempting to tackle 19 different Whistler bike trails on a single day, Sept. 15. The cyclists that accomplish this feat will be initiated as Samurais at a special ceremony at Teppan Village during the post-race dinner, then the party will move to Merlin’s where the public can join in the post-race party.

The doors will open at 9 p.m. Slow Nerve Action will provide the music, and bike shops around town have provided the door prizes.

"It’s just a good time for mountain bikers and well wishers, whether they rode the race or not, and its for a good cause," says race organizer Tony Horn.

It costs $5 to get in, with all proceeds going towards the Whistler Off Road Cycling Association’s trail maintenance fund.
