Sandbox back with new film

Labour Day is only two weeks away, which means the build-up to winter is just around the corner.

With that in mind, Sandbox is ready to present its new snowboard film, Time Well Wasted.

The world premiere for the film is Saturday, Sept. 1 at Millennium Place. Show times are 7 and 9 p.m. Tickets are $9.99, available through TicketMaster or Millennium Place, and organizers strongly advise people to get their tickets early.

An after-party at Garfinkel’s is free with your ticket stub.

Strut Your Stuff coming

The annual Strut Your Stuff community sport and recreation registration fair is Sept. 8 at Myrtle Philip Community School, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

The fair is a clearing house for fall and winter activities for families and kids. At the fair participants can:

• register for fall and winter activities;

• talk to representatives from community groups and municipal recreation programming staff;

• trade in and purchase small sports equipment and clothing;

• watch and take part in mini sport-related displays;

• pick up Kidsport grant applications and information.

Groups and suppliers wishing to reserve a display table for Strut Your Stuff should contact the RMOW Community Life Department at 604-935-8350, Course #10234. Display tables cost $20 for non-profit and community service groups; $30 for commercial service groups and suppliers.
