Sea to Sky builders commended

RDC Fine Homes, Alpine Timberframe and Design, and Glacier Creek Contracting honoured by Canadian Home Builders Association

Three Sea to Sky developers were presented with Georgie Awards by the Canadian Home Builders Association on March 5. The awards recognize excellence in home building and renovations, as well as innovation in environmental design, financing, marketing and more.

RDC Fine Homes of Whistler won the award for Single Detached Home Under 2,500 Square Feet for their project at 8400 Indigo Lane at Rainbow. The project used environmental construction techniques such as rammed earth to insulate the walls and passive solar design to heat and cool the home naturally.

Alpine Timberframe & Design won the award for Best Single Family Detached Home Under 2,000 square feet for Eco Rain Forest Retreat in Tofino - a compact home with wood finishing and a vaulted ceiling.

Glacier Creek Contracting won the award for Best Public-Private Partnership for their work on The Chiyakmesh, a 55-unit employee rental complex at Cheakamus Crossing that was built to house athletes during the Games, then repurposed as rental housing.
