Sea to Sky MLA Sturdy named parliamentary secretary to the Minister of Transportation

Whistler’s new MLA Jordan Sturdy has been appointed British Columbia’s parliamentary secretary to the Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure of Transportation.

His job will be to work with communities as they contemplate transit and infrastructure improvements for their residents.

Premier Christy Clark named Sturdy to her new team along with 32 other new ministers and secretaries.

The Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure and Deputy House Leader will be Todd Stone of Kamloops.

The announcement was made on June 7 in Vancouver, with the new cabinet being sworn in on Monday, June 10.

Sturdy, the current mayor of Pemberton, became MLA for West Vancouver-Sea to Sky on May 14, replacing retiring MLA Joan McIntyre.

Sturdy has not yet made a statement about his future as the mayor of Pemberton. An announcement is expected shortly.
