If teachers vote to ratify their tentative agreement with the BC Public School Employers Association today, schools in the Sea to Sky District will be open on Monday, Sept. 22, according to a letter sent out by school superintendent Lisa McCullough.

Some important things to note from the letter:

-Opening day on Monday will be an early dismissal day.

-The first full day of classes will be Tuesday, Sept. 23.

-All currently-scheduled "Collaboration Days" in September and October have been postponed until a later date.

-A professional development day scheduled for Friday, Oct. 24 will remain in place.

-Secondary schools in the district are planning to make adjustments to scheduled instructional time to better balance this year's two semesters as a result of lost time. A second provincial exam sitting will be provided during the first week of February to assist with this.

-Grade 10-12 students who wrote amended provincial English and Social Studies exams in June will have the option to write the essay portion of those exams in an online sitting in November.

-Updates will be provided on the school district's website at www.sd48seatosky.org
