Saskatchewan youth left Squamish campsite Sunday night

A teenage boy has been missing for almost 12 hours after walking away from a campsite in the Squamish Valley.

The 17-year-old Saskatchewan teen is part of a large group camping in the area. He left the campsite at 11 p.m. Sunday, June 24 after a dispute with family members and has not been seen since.

Cpl. Dave Ritchie of the Squamish RCMP said police were notified of the missing teen at 5 a.m. Monday.

Search and Rescue crews are now on scene with air support and a police dog.

A description of the missing youth is expected shortly.
