Steve Podborski, 1980 Olympic bronze medalist in downhill, has been appointed executive director of International Relations for the Vancouver-Whistler 2010 Olympic bid.
Podborski, a resident of Whistler, brings first-hand experience as an athlete, Olympian, television sport commentator, sponsor and supplier representative and successful business owner to the 2010 Bid. His tasks will include the development of an overall international relations strategy to guide the bid’s activities, recruitment of an international relations work group, and liaison with International Winter Sport Federations on the various technical requirements of each sport.
