Who said wine and study don’t mix? It does when it’s a fundraiser and thanks once again to the wine gurus at International Cellars, we can all sample a large variety of local and foreign wines in an effort to not only expand our palettes but our minds as well. Money raised from the event will go to the Whistler Public Library.

Chile - Undurraga

France - Louis Jadot

More than $9,000 was raised at last year’s event, going towards book collection development and library programming. Since its inception, this event has raised over $90,000 for Whistler charities.

Speaker series coming to MY Place

From next Friday, May 16, MY Place will become a Speakers Corner of sorts with a selection of renowned community leaders sharing their secrets of success, knowledge and stories with us.

First up is inspirational speaker, Brock Tully, who has written many books and videos on how to get the most out of life.

In 1970, Tully cycled 10,000 miles throughout Canada, the U.S., and Mexico. He now tours internationally to talk about the lessons he’s learned along the way about making the most of what you’ve got.

Brock was a college football and basketball coach, drug rehabilitation counsellor and recreation therapist. Through his books, music, magic, and juggling, he hopes to touch hearts and leave us thinking, smiling, and caring more. Tix are $14 and the talk starts at 8 p.m.
