The Whistler Skating Club’s ice carnival is taking place this weekend, featuring an original production called Safari on Ice.

Twenty-four senior skaters, 20 junior skaters, and 65 can-skaters will take the audience on an African safari, complete with music, costumes, and a series of choreographed routines.

The club only hosts an ice carnival every two year, and coaches and skaters have been working around the clock to put this one together.

Tickets are $12 for adults, $7 for children, and $30 for families (maximum two adults). Shows are at Meadow Park arena at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. on May 5.
