Alpine Canada has launched the Canadian Alpine Ski Team (CAST) Legacy Project to invite individuals and corporations to support and be a part of a proud alpine skiing tradition that includes Nancy Greene Raine, the Crazy Canucks, Rob Boyd, Kerrin-Lee Gartner, Edi Podivinsky and Melanie Turgeon, to name just a few.

With the Olympics only months away and the World Cup season starting this weekend, Alpine Canada launched the legacy program to generate financial support for the athletes themselves, to put them on even footing with their European counterparts. One hundred per cent of the money raised will go towards the athletes.

To get the ball rolling, Peters & Co. Limited – a long-time supporter of CAST based in Calgary – has formalized its support with two of their principles, donating $60,000 to the Legacy project.

Among the many items donors receive is a tax-deductible receipt for a significant part of their donation, recognition from CAST members, and a number of VIP passes to their choice of alpine events in Canada.
