The second Sprite Park Rider Series snow cross was held in some difficult conditions on March 15, with choppy snow and periods of poor visibility challenging the athletes to stay on course.

The event teams kept things running as smoothly as possible for the more than 30 skiers and boarders who turned out to race. Numbers were down more than two-thirds compared to previous weeks as a result of the weather and a conflict with the provincial snowboard championships at Big White.

The third and last Sprite Snowcross on the Park Rider Series calendar is on March 29. Register in advance at any Whistler-Blackcomb Ski School Sales location, or by calling 1-800-766-0449. Day of race registration is available at the Rendezvous until 9:45 a.m. for an extra $5 fee.
