Tuesday's snowfall is wreaking havoc on transit schedules.

BC Transit is advising that due to current snow conditions, riders should expect delays on all local routes.

Riders in Alpine, Rainbow, Nordic and Emerald are asked to catch their bus on Highway 99 (or at Meadow Park in Alpine).

The delays will no doubt be a nuisance for some, but the snowfall is a godsend to local powder enthusiasts.

"There's some dynamic weather on the way in the next couple weeks to B.C.," explained meteorologist Tyler Hamilton in a video posted to the Weather Network website on Monday, Dec. 10. "In the alpine, we'll be measuring snowfall in the metres, not centimetres through the next week or two."

Thanks to a weather system coming from the northwest, coupled with a low-pressure system expected to roll in from the southwest later in the week, snow is expected to accumulate throughout the region from Thursday into Friday.

"All of the ski resorts throughout the Lower Mainland, all of the five of the major ones throughout the South Coast are looking at ample snowfall. I guarantee a great skiing season ahead through the holidays," Hamilton said.
