A snowfall warning is in effect for Whistler and the Sea to Sky, with total amounts of 15 to 20 centimeters expected.

The snow is due to a strong Pacific frontal system sweeping over the south coast, according to Environment Canada.

"The heavy snow will ease to just scattered flurries mid evening as the frontal system continues to move to the south," reads a posting on Environment Canada&'s website

"Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow."
