Soul Funktion number one again

The Soul Funktion Competitive Dance Team took first yet again last weekend after placing first and third in their divisions at the Dance Power Competition in Vancouver.

The Soul Funktion Competitive Dance Team took first yet again last weekend after placing first and third in their divisions at the Dance Power Competition in Vancouver.

“Every number won its category (again) except for one second, which again was second to one of our own numbers,” said studio spokesperson Linda McGaw. “The competition was fantastic.”

Soul Funktion has been cleaning up Vancouver dance competitions this season. Earlier this month, the competitive team of 44 dancers entered 12 numbers, placing first in 11 entries at the Peak Invitational Competition. The 12 th number placed second — losing out to another Soul Funktion number.

Last weekend was no different. Eight dance groups move onto the Power Championships final; four of the eight were from Soul Funktion. The studio’s Night of the Dancing Flames won the division with Ain’t No Other Man placing third runner up.

The team will be performing at the studio’s year-end production June 8 to 10 at MY Millennium Place. However, tickets for shows are already sold out.
