Sounds of Celtic duo now on CD

Whistler’s favourite Celtic lasses are putting their guitar and fiddling talents on CD.

Leanne and Kyla have become the staple of entertainment at Dubh Linn Gate, appearing six times this week alone. Now audiences can take their traditional and original tunes back to their own part of the world.

"We made it primarily to sell at Dubh Linn Gate, with all the Irish jigs and that sort of thing. We’ve just finished recording but we’re still working on the graphics," explains Leanne.

The 12-song disc was recorded at Rob DeMarco’s One Drop Studio in Black Tusk. Although its primary purpose will be to make their Whistler gigs more lucrative, the CD will also be used to market the duo to the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island.

"We’re slowly starting to get inquiries. I think the Vancouver music scene is a little weird right now, but I just came back from Victoria and it feels like there may be more opportunities over there," continues Leanne.

Watch for a CD release party around Labour Day.
