What: ABORIGINAL YOUTH CULTURAL SHARING DAY Join 20 Grade Six students from Kugluktuk, Nunavut who will be in Whistler this weekend. The students will share their culture and community while building an Inukshuk on the deck of the Info Centre. They will be joined by members of the Youth Ambassadors from Squamish and Lil’wat First Nations in a cultural sharing of drumming, songs and dancing.

What: LENDING A HELPING HAND FOUNDATION Two speakers will give presentations on ‘living joyously in challenging times.’ They will be presenting their experiences and how they changed their lives. They will be using their experiences with suicide, depression and breast cancer to help other people during difficult times. Tickets are $9.99. All proceeds to charity.

What: SECS AGM Geological engineer Frank Baumann is the guest speaker at the annual general meeting of the Squamish Environmental Conservation Society. He will speak about the common hazards that people in the corridor must live with including flooding, debris flows, rock slides, earthquakes and small slope failures. Admission by donation.
