What: LUNAFLIKS Bring your blankets and your chairs and leave the booze at home while you check out the double feature this week Phil the Alien and V for Vendetta. What: 24-hour bike ride Nick Bladen will be biking non-stop for 24 hours this weekend to raise money for the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Support Bladen on his stationary bike, sample the BBQ and make a donation. Bladen sets off on a cross Canada bike trip on September 18 to raise money and awareness for the foundation.

What: CHORUS REHEARSALS Rehearsals begin again for the Whistler Chorus (6:30 p.m.) and the Whistler Children’s Chorus (3 p.m.), the former for singers up to 25 years, the latter for singers in Grades 1-7. Rehearsals for these non-auditioned community choirs are Tuesdays September to April. For info contact Alison at [email protected].

What: ORIENTEERING Interested in maps, navigation and running or walking in the woods? The Greater Vancouver Orienteering Club is organizing two events in Whistler, the first at 9 a.m. at Myrtle Philip School, the second at 2 p.m. at Lost Lake Park.
