What: 7-ELEVEN FIRE AND ICE SHOW Whistler Blackcomb hosts this show every Sunday night. You’ll get to see fire spinners, fireworks and the hottest pros from Whistler Blackcomb’s Ski and Snowboard School jumping through a ring of fire.

When: Every Sunday night from December 21 to April 5

What: 25TH ANNUAL CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICE OF LESSONS AND CAROLS The 25th annual interdenominational Christmas Eve service and everyone is welcome to attend. Community members will be there to read the story of Christmas and the public is invited to join with them in singing Christmas carols.

When: Wednesday December 24, 6:30 p.m.

What: CANDLELIGHT CHRISTMAS SERVICE The Pemberton Christian Fellowship presents its annual candlelight Christmas Eve at the new Pemberton Community Centre. All are welcome to celebrate the Christmas season.

When: Wednesday December 24, 7 p.m.

Where: Room C, New Pemberton Community Centre

What: KING OF THE RAIL JIB SESSION Rail jam sessions presented by Whistler Blackcomb will run on select Saturday nights beneath the Magic Chair. The contests are for both males and females and there are separate categories for males, females, adults and youths.

When: Saturday December 27, registration 5 p.m. – 6 p.m.

Where: Under the Magic Chair, Blackcomb Mountain

What: FIRST NIGHT WHISTLER A New Year’s Eve celebration takes over Whistler Village Square and the Telus Conference Centre to say out with the old and in with the new. Bands feature Spirit of the West, as well as art workshops and street entertainment. Tickets $15 for adults and $8 for kids 12 years and under. No alcohol allowed.

What: BRACKENDALE WINTER EAGLE FESTIVAL Witness a month-long festival with live musical performances, theatre and eagle counting. There’s also workshops on salmon farming!

What: FOYER GALLERY OPENING RECEPTION The Foyer Gallery will have an opening reception to commemorate a month of artist exhibits. They’ll include works by Wanda Doyle and Jan Phelan.

What: PARENT EDUCATION EVENING The Whistler Alcohol and Drug Committee presents an education evening for parents. Sea to Sky Comunity Services Drug Prevention and Education workers and others will present a discussion on drug facts, information and trends to help youth make healthy decisions.
