What: ROTARY CLUB THURSDAY LUNCHES The Rotary Club of Whistler Millennium welcomes Rotarians and guests from around the world every Thursday. Enjoy interesting guest speakers, fellowship and involvement in actions to improve the world at community and international levels. Lunch is $17.

What: CYBER SUNDAYS - COMPUTER BASICS This workshop aims to educate you in the basics of computers. Get an overview of basic functions and learn how to use a mouse and keyboard. No experience is required. Admission is free but class sizes are limited so be sure to register at (604) 935-8433, extension 8725.

When: Sunday January 17, 4 p.m. - 6 p.m.

Where: Digital Learning Centre, Whistler Library

 

What: SUBSTANCES: WHEN USE BECOMES MISUSE A free public information session to increase awareness about alcohol or other drug(s) use. With a non-judgmental approach, we identify the differences between social use and problematic use. Presented by Whistler Mental Health and Addiction Services in partnership with the Whistler Public Library. Food bank donations appreciated.

When: Tuesday January 19, 6:30 p.m. - 8 p.m.

What: NEW YEAR - NEW REALITY This workshop aims to help you become the "author of your own life" and discover new potential. We can't go around just reacting to the things that happen to us. We need to make things happen and this will teach you how to do that. $30 admission includes all supplies and a beverage of your choice.

When: Wednesday January 20, 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

WHAT: OCCUPATIONAL THERAPISTS - MANTRA LIVING Your children are growing up fast. They'll be in school before you know it. Do they have the functional physical skills necessary to learn to print, use scissors and dress independently? Teach them how with the help of occupational therapists. Call (604) 892-3110 for more.

What: CYBER SUNDAYS - INTERNET BASICS The Whistler Library presents an introduction to the internet. It's an opportunity to learn about web browsers, navitagtion and good searching. Just in case you hadn't heard about the internet before, this class is here for you.

When: Sunday January 24, 4 p.m. - 6 p.m.

What: WHISTLER TORCH RELAY DAY The flame arrives in town and it's time for Whistler to celebrate. This will be a harbinger of hope or logistical hell. Celebrations in Whistler Village include a performance by Barney Bentall and the Grand Cariboo Opry at the Village Square Apres Stage.

When: Friday, February 5, celebration starts at 3 p.m.

Where: Whistler Village Apres Stage

 

What: PEMBERTON TORCH RELAY DAY Pemberton is hosting a full day party to celebrate the arrival of the Olympic torch. Events throughout the day include photo opportunities with the VANOC mascots, a Polar Bear Swim at One Mile Lake and a no-contact street hockey tournament.
