What: COMMUNITY BOTTLE DRIVE FOR HAITI RELIEF Pembertonian Lisa Ames is hosting a bottle drive to raise funds for Haiti Earthquake Relief. Five years ago Pemberton raised $10,000 for tsunami relief efforts. Now let's do it again and help relieve a shaken country.

When: Saturday January 23 and Sunday January 24, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

What: CYBER SUNDAYS - INTERNET BASICS The Whistler Library presents an introduction to the internet. It's an opportunity to learn about web browsers, navitagtion and good searching. Just in case you hadn't heard about the internet before, this class is here for you.

What: FINDING BALANCE: COPING SKILLS FOR A STRESSFUL WORLD This is a free public information session about identifying areas of stress in your life and strategies for self-care. It's a non-judgmental space. Presented by Whistler Mental Health and Addictions Services. Foodbank donations appreciated.

When: Tuesday January 26, 6:30 p.m. - 8 p.m.

What: WHISTLER TORCH RELAY DAY The flame arrives in town and it's time for Whistler to celebrate. This will be a harbinger of hope or logistical hell. Celebrations in Whistler Village include a performance by Barney Bentall and the Grand Cariboo Opry at the Village Square Apres Stage.

When: Friday, February 5, celebration starts at 3 p.m.

What: PEMBERTON TORCH RELAY DAY Pemberton is hosting a full day party to celebrate the arrival of the Olympic torch. Events throughout the day include photo opportunities with the VANOC mascots, a Polar Bear Swim at One Mile Lake and a no-contact street hockey tournament.

What: PEMBERTON WINTERFEST ARTISAN SHOW The first of several Pemberton Winterfest events that will happen during the Olympics, this will showcase the best that Spud Valley artists have to offer. Other activities to come include an opening celebration, youth video dance and dinner theatre throughout the Games.
