What: MENTORING MEANS BUSINESS The Whistler Forum for Leadership and Dialogue presents two sessions with Ian Chisholm, a leading expert in executive coaching, leadership development and intergenerational mentorship. Two events will help you learn how to be a great mentor.

What: PARENTING SINGLE Whistler Community Services Society presents its newest program, Parenting Single, offering a light lunch at Three Below for single parents in Whistler. It provides an opportunity for single parents to socialize and develop connections around playdates. Contact Tara Souch at tara@mywcss.org to RSVP.

What: WHISTLER CUP Rio Tinto Alcan presents the Whistler Cup, North America's only FIS-sanctioned race for juvenile ski racers aged 11 to 14. It's now in its 18th year and will show the world skiers who will soon follow in the steps of great competitors like Lindsey Vonn, Julia Mancuso, Erik Guay and Britt Janyk.

What: DINNER WITH CANADIAN AMBASSADOR TO KOREA The Whistler Forum for Leadership and Dialogue hosts a dinner with Ted Lipman, Canada's ambassador to Korea. He'll be in Whistler to talk about how we can establish closer ties between Canada/Whistler and Korea.

What: TELUS WORLD SKI AND SNOWBOARD FESTIVAL Yes, regrettably there's another party coming. It's a 10-day-and-night showcase of progressions in the skiing and snowboarding world with arts and music events pumped full of adrenaline. It's Canada's largest free outdoor concert series. More details to come.

What: 17TH ANNUAL FATHER DAUGHTER DANCE The Whistler Children's Centre puts on a fundraiser that will see fathers take their daughters to a dance at the marvelous Chateau Whistler. Tickets are $40 for dads, $20 for daughters and they're on sale now at www.whistlerchildren.com.

What: WHISTLER MOUNTAIN BIKE PARK OPENS Starting May 15, the Whistler Mountain Bike Park will be open daily, ushering in the summer season in one of the world's greatest resorts. Bring pads and clothes you want to get dirty, because the bike park can be a rough run.
