What: MEET, LEARN AND LISTEN WITH CLARA HUGHES Olympic legend Clara Hughes comes to Whistler for two separate events. One is an event with the Whistler Forum's Intergenerational Mentorship Participants and the other is a Leadership Sea to Sky Fundraiser. First event is $25, the other is $125.

When: Saturday June 12, 3 p.m. and 6 p.m., respectively

Where: Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Centre; Fairmont Chateau Whistler Ballroom

 

What: WOMEN OF WHISTLER The Women of Whistler host their last meeting of the season to celebrate the Women of the Games! Guest speakers include Maureen Douglas and Chelsey Walker, who'll speak on an evening that'll be a fun retrospective of Games events. Cost $30 plus GST for early birds, $35 plus GST starting June 7

What: GIANT PLANT SALE The Friends of the Library present the annual Giant Plant Sale, asking Whistler gardeners to contribute healthy perennials, vegetables and small shrubs to make the sale a success. It sells out every year, so please donate plants by talking to Christy Auer at (604) 932-4062.

When: Saturday June 12, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Where: Marketplace Parking Lot

 

What: ST. JEAN BAPTISTE PARTY Squamish citizens are organizing a St. Jean Baptiste Party in Downtown Squamish. Francophones and Francophiles make up about 15 per cent of Sea to Sky's population and will celebrate their culture with musicians like Hugo Paquin and Mikael Aubin, Annie Roy and Mathieu Jolicoeur.

What: CANADA DAY PARADE The Whistler Chamber of Commerce invites all business and community groups to join in Canada Day celebrations. Sing, dance, jump, walk or ride your bike. It's a great chance to show your business or group to more than 6,000 spectators. To be accompanied by a big party that the muni is paying for!
