What: A not-so-lazy Saturday - Saturdays at The Point is poised to move into their second week at the former hostel on Alta Lake. This Saturday, July 23 close your eyes and soak up the percussive sounds of Luke Stabb on guitar, a back porch reading from one of Alex Philip's novels by long time Alta Lake resident J'Anne Greenwood, as well as the Book Shop Cafe, an art exhibit, drop-in workshops in guitar with Papa Josh (at 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.) and a photography workshop with David Buzzard (1:30 p.m).

What: See Vij Live Spend an afternoon with chef Vikram Vij, who will be at Kitchen Quickies for a cooking demonstration and cookbook signing to launch his new line of frozen, natural (no hormones or antibiotics in the meat dishes and many of the vegetarian dishes are gluten and dairy free) take home Indian-inspired dishes.

What: T-shirt printing and face painting - Come for a bear talk from Michael Allen, print your own real bear paw t-shirt, and get your face painted like one of Whistler's many furry friends, such as the black bear, raccoon, wolf, marmot, or cougar.
