The J.J. Whistler Bear Society hosts "Living with Bears in your Backyard: A resident’s guide to coexistence" with Sylvia Dolson. This workshop focuses on minimizing backyard attractants, appropriate behaviour when encountering an ‘urban bear’ and methods for deterring bears from your property. PEMBERTON COUNTRY JAMBOREE>>

Get into the Stampede mood with your cowboy boots and hats! The Pemberton Country Jamboree is set to take place from July 25-27 at Pemberton Stables. There’ll be 4H exhibits, country music and of course, the biggest hoe down of them all at the annual barn dance. Stay tuned for details.

NEIL FALKNER MEMORIAL PUTTING TOURNIE>>

The first putting tournament in honour of ski patroller Neil Falkner who died in a ski accident last year will be held on Sun. July 27 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Riverside Greens Putting Course. It’s $25 per person. Call Chris Roscoe at 604-935-2996 for info.
