The village walkways will come alive from Thurs. July 1 to Sun. July 4 with O Canada, a weekend of street entertainment. Check out the local performers as well as RCMP Corporal Dave Smith with Justice the horse, Moose Jaw the dog and apprentice Winchester. Stay tuned for upcoming street performers throughout the summer in this Tourism Whistler program.

GARIBALDI DAY>>

Celebrate the birthday of Guiseppe Garibaldi during the first ever Garibaldi Day in Squamish. On Sat. July 3 at 7:30 p.m. there will be a public presentation at the Squamish Public Library as well as the screening of an Italian short film. On Sun. July 4 at noon there will be a formal re-dedication of the Garibaldi Monument at Watts Point, south of Squamish, followed b a picnic from 1-5 p.m. at Stan Clarke Park. The Whistler Arts Council brings Whistler’s first ArtWalk, slated for July 3-31, 2004. ArtWalk is a Whistler village-wide exhibition of Sea-to-Sky corridor visual artists in non-traditional gallery spaces. Concurrent Opening Receptions will be on Fri. July 9 from 6:30-9 p.m. throughout the village giving everyone an opportunity to wander from reception to reception, hobnobbing with artists and performers that live and work in the Sea-to-Sky corridor. WHISTLER ARTS & MUSIC FESTIVAL>>

The main stage in Whistler’s Village Square will be the centre of all the action during Tourism Whistler’s Arts and Music Festival with free daily performances on Fri. July 9 and Sat. July 10. Check out music from Bara-Rumba, a 14-piece Afro-Cuban troupe, Mariachi Del Sol, a Mexican ensemble, Tango Paradiso, a classic Argentinean inspired group and many more.
