The village walkways will come alive from Thurs. July 22 to Sun. July 25 with the death-defying stunts of Dangerous Dan and the Flowshow. The Baia Brothers will put on free demos and daily clinics in the village in cooperation with the CrankWorx Festival. Stay tuned for upcoming street performers throughout the summer in this Tourism Whistler program.

ARTWALK>>

The Whistler Arts Council brings Whistler’s first ArtWalk to town from July 3-31, 2004. ArtWalk is a Whistler village-wide exhibition of Sea to Sky corridor visual artists in non-traditional gallery spaces. For more info: info@whistlerartscouncil.com or 604-935-8419.

PEMBERTON COUNTRY JAMBOREE>>

Kick up your heels at the fourth annual Pemberton Jamboree on July 23-25.

The three days of family fun will take place at the Pemberton Heritage Museum including a pancake breakfast, beer garden, 4H show and lots more! For info call 604-894-6175. The annual Barn Dance will take place the following Sat. July 31. Tickets: $25 in advance

The freeride mountain bike festival gets underway from July 22-25. There’s something for everyone from free concerts, pro-rider demonstration shows to the air downhill and the boneyard biker x. Check out the Pique for more details.

FOUTH ANNUAL ZERO CEILING BBQ>>

On Sat. July 24 Zero Ceiling will be holding their annual BBQ in Skier’s Plaza in front of the Longhorn. There will be hot dogs and corn for hungry mountain bikers and spectators alike. The BBQ will run from noon until the evening.

K9 WINE & DINE>>

It’s billed as the canine event of the year – the K9 Wine & Dine is back again at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler on Sun. July 25 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tickets: $25/dog for a three course meal and $30/human for dinner and a live auction. Proceeds to go to WAG. Call Trail Dogs at 604-905-9273 for info/tix.

REEL ALTERNATIVES – OUTDOOR FILM SERIES>>

On Wed. July 28 the Whistler Film Festival is bringing the Canadian mock documentary The Delicate Art of Parking to Lost Lake Park. Live music and a picnic will get the evening started at 8 p.m. followed by the movie at 10 p.m. Tickets: $8. Kids under 12 are free. Film presentations may be postponed due to weather. The next LUNA (Late & Unique Nighttime Alternatives) outdoor movie will be at dusk on Thurs. July 29. Check out The Rage in Placid Lake at Lost Lake Park. A special shuttle will leave from Gondola Transit Exchange. Tickets: $2 for LUNA members, $4 non-members.

USED BOOK SALE>>

Stock up on summer reading at the used book sale on Sat. July 31 at the IGA in Marketplace. The sale will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Collection bins are now at TD Canada Trust, Nesters Markets and the library.
