What: Hollywood and holy wood A Good Friday Service at the Whistler Village Church will have video excerpts from and meditations on the Cross prompted by four movies: Ben Hur, Jesus of Montreal, The Last Temptation of Christ and The Passion of the Christ.

What: Creekside Stampede If a ride on the mechanical bull tickles your toes, check out the Creekside Stampede this weekend. Events include calf roping, horse show pitch, live music and a cow patty throwing contest. And don’t forget the Barn Dance. Tickets are $10 for the dance on Saturday. Call 604-905-2171. What: Local Amateur Showdown Just before the WSSF Showdown in April, Westbeach is supporting local talent by having an amateur photography/art/film showdown. What: bear necessities Join LUNA and learn about bear behaviour with local black bear researcher Michael Allen. Michael will bring slides and artefacts and there will be bear related souvenirs for sale too. The evening will also include a screening of ‘Project Grizzly’ – a National Film Board of Canada movie about one man’s mission to build the perfect bear-proof suit.

What: The story of Bob Katy Hutchinson presents "The Story of Bob" about social responsibility, forgiveness and restorative justice as she recounts the circumstances surrounding the death of her husband Bob McIntosh in Squamish. Admission by donation. Babysitting available. This is part of the Whistler Alcohol & Drug Committee Speaker Series.

Listen to Motivational Speaker Donna Savage and Certified Laugh Leader Lucinda Flavelle in these two free evenings. Social time and exhibits kick off each meeting.
